Effects Of Cyberbullying

The effects of cyberbullying are always negative on the victims. This type of bullying is done via electronic devices, such as cell phones and smart phones, and the Internet and causes psychological agitation in the victims. Hence, the effects of cyberbullying result in negative emotions like embarrassment, fear, anger, frustration, sadness, and feeling hurt.

In addition, cyberbullying also causes the victim to perform poorly at school or work due to poor concentration. Generally, school going children are more prone to being victims of cyberbullying. Hence, they end up being absent from school more often than normal. It has been seen that the young victims of cyberbullying suffer from stress and do not know how to tackle it. As a result, these students can end up indulging in anti-social behavior to alleviate the stress.

As cyberbullying is a new form of bullying, social scientists still do not know what the long-term effects are. It will be a few years before the long-term effects of cyberbullying are known, studied and understood.
