Discipline A Difficult Child

Children are of different kinds, and at any given point of time you cannot compare two children. Some children are naturally obedient and easy to manage. Some kids are not easy to manage, and tend to be more adamant. It is just their nature, and every child can be softened up and molded.

There are different ways of dealing with them. A difficult child needs to be dealt with more discipline and practically. They need more rules than the normal children. Sometimes, you have to be stern and stiff with the child, and sometimes you need to do it softly.

Here are some tips you can follow to discipline a difficult child.

• When you make a rule, first of all stick to it. Do not cut slack and let the child get an impression it is okay not to follow the rules.
• When the child breaks a rule, do not threaten them with consequences. Instead, take action. Action is always more effective with children.
• Do not keep saying no for everything. Always make a positive and assertive note of what is right. By telling the child the right thing to do, they follow it better.
• When the child is not listening, try distracting him or her.
• Correct the bad behavior immediately. If your child throws a toy, then take it and say that he or she cannot play with it again.
• If your child is not putting his or her things in place, you do it and tell them that they cannot use them for the rest of the day.
