If you have one bully in the classroom, the other children should naturally learn how to deal with that child. A bullying child is very difficult to handle by parents and teachers at school. So how does one deal with a monster at hand? It is very difficult to answer this question. Children who bully cause serious damage to the self esteem of other children.
They do not set healthy social patterns and may disturb the social circle amongst children. For children the dynamics of friendship are very delicate. In order to handle school bullies, the teacher of the class should actually step in. A bully can be bullied only by an adult. Violence or punishment may never solve the problem and in fact, the teacher has to adapt to a gentler method to deal with the bullies.
The best way to handle bullies is to stop them when they are getting bossy. Do not give in to their demands and let them know that you are not happy with their behavior. Do not threaten a bully but simply show that you are not scared. Bullies continue their behavior only when it is fueled. Once they realize that nobody is scared of them, they will stop behaving like that. Refuse to be friends with a bully or share your things. Once they realize that nobody is talking to him or her, they will think about it.
Bullies cannot be changed by you or anyone else. They have to realize it themselves. So do not get stressed out about them. In fact, be calm and ignore their impact on you.
