Discipline is an integral part of bringing up children. Every child needs some kind of rules and discipline as a daily part of their lives. A child without any kind of discipline can be unruly and also disobeying. Discipline is not about being strict with your children, but making them more principled. These types of values are instilled early in childhood.
Parents forget to differentiate between love and pampering, and that is where they go wrong. Discipline also means loving your child.
Children learn the value of time when they follow timelines. For example, they should have dinner time and bed time in order to understand the value of time. Unless they learn to value their own time, they are not going to respect anyone else‘s time. A daily routine also helps them to do things in an orderly way.
Children learn respect through discipline. In order to teach them discipline, you need to be disciplined yourself. When you discipline your child, you should show them respect. In future when your child has an argument with you, they will also show respect.
In order to discipline the child, have an open communication with them. No matter what, do not raise your hand. Have a talk with them and this way you also teach them to communicate.
Discipline is just not about going to bed and waking up on time. It is about taking care of their things, doing things in a socially acceptable way and also obeying rules in their day to day lives.
