Sexually transmitted diseases or STDs are infections that are transmitted through sexual contact. The CDC reported that more than 15 million Americans every year endure some of the other kind of STD, with the average age of those infected being between 15 and 24.

Here is a list of STDs and their symptoms:

Chlamydia: The symptoms of Chlamydia include an unnatural vaginal discharge and burning sensation while urinating. If ignored for long, women will have pain in the lower abdominal region, skin abnormalities and eye inflammation. They may also suffer from PID. Men experience symptoms unusual discharge from the penis along with pain in the testicles. Chlamydia is curable but often comes back.

Genital Herpes: Small reddish blisters on the vagina and/or its surrounding area, vaginal discharge, muscle pain, fever are all symptoms. Men will find the blisters on and around the penis.

Gonorrhea: Discomfort and burning sensation while urinating, discharge from the vagina is what women experience, but men usually show no symptoms.

Genital Warts: These are painless cauliflower like growths on the penis or the vagina. It is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). These start looking fleshy if not attended to, and can spread.

Hepatitis B: Symptoms are joint, muscle or stomach pains, mild fever, fatigue, headaches and no appetite. Jaundice too can be a symptom of Hepatitis B.

HIV/AIDS: Symptoms include yeast infections in the mouth, fatigue, weight loss, skin rashes, mild fever and night sweat. Women may experience PID or irregular periods.

Syphilis: During primary stages there will be painless and self-healing sores, but left untreated, syphilis victims will experience fatigue, skin rash and sore throat. Advanced syphilis can cause paralysis, blindness, dementia and even death.
