The body mass index called BMI is a scientific indicator of obesity. If the BMI of a person is 30 or more, he is considered to be obese.

Children are also affected by obesity due to the unhealthy foods they eat and watching television for long hours. Obesity can cause further health related problems, and some people get into a depressed state because of their obesity. People with obesity can also suffer from cancer, sleep apnea, stroke, gall bladder disease and heart diseases.

The reasons for the increasing number people with obesity are due to unhealthy food and inactive life. However, obesity can be controlled and reversed with proper intake of food, improved lifestyle and regular exercise.
