Some people, who have grown up in adopted parents home, later in life realize or have the need to find out who their biological father was. The Social Services says that they receive more requests for finding fathers than mothers. Finding a biological father is a quest, and you should be prepared for the results. |
First of all ask yourself if you want to go through the whole process without knowing what the outcome is going to be. When you are searching for someone, you do it with a hope of finding them. However, you should be prepared to face the opposite also.
When you decide to find your biological father there are two steps in it. The first is to contact the Social Services, and look up your actual birth record. If your parents have it, then you should take it with you. Based on that record, the Social Services will look up your biological father’s Social Security Number and other details. However, you will need to assist them with additional information like your place of birth or city of birth, and the hospital name if you know. The Social Services may not find the current address, and may give you the last known address stored with them.
Once you retrieve the address and phone number you can start your hunt. If you are lucky, you may find your biological father in the address provided by the Social Services, or else the hunt goes on. From there the investigation is pretty much in your own hands to pursue.
