A research conducted by the University of Michigan has revealed that kids aged between 7 years and 13 months tend to react in the same manner whether they are separated from their father or mother. For instance, when a kid is separated from the father, the kid will cry and/or complain just as he or she would if the mother becomes absent. |
Similarly, a separate research has shown that kids between the age of 7 months and 2 years are also attached to their father and mother; and hence, having both parents during the early stages of development is crucial for kids. Hence, fathers should understand the impact of their absence and take steps to ensure that they are present while their kids are growing up.
It has been proven scientifically that when fathers are affectionate and loving, the kids have high self esteem. In addition, the presence of a father affects the kid's behavior as a male or female. So, having a father is equally important for a girl and boy.
The impact of an absent father has a profound effect on a child. Studies have shown that kids tend to miss an absent father a lot. If the father's absence is due to divorce, a kid will mourn the loss of the father as though he has passed away. Researches have also shown that if fathers are absent, children have behavioral issues, have problems with social behavior, and do not perform well in school, especially in science and math.
