Toddlers need a lot of energy because they are very active. At this age, they want to explore everything and they are constantly on the move. A toddler’s meal should be complete and healthy in order to sustain the level of activity. Vegetables play a very important role in the healthy development of the child. Also, they will make better choices of food naturally when they grow up. |
Children who eat vegetables are less prone to becoming fat. Avoid fried food as snacks for your toddler. There are several finger foods available like cheerios and gold fish. However, if you give them something home-based it would be a healthier and better choice. Always try to give them something natural. Fruits and vegetables make a great choice for finger foods.
The regular meals that you give your child also could have fruits and vegetables in it. Meat is something normal and children eat it all the time. However, you can make them have one meal that has vegetables. Like bread and vegetables or rice and vegetables. It is easy for children to eat, and also they remain active. You should make it a point to introduce them some new vegetable every week. This way they will learn to eat everything. Salads can be given to children along with their meals. Finely chopped cucumbers and carrots with a dash of lemon make a great and tangy salad. It is also very healthy for them. You can, on some days, alternate the vegetable salad with a fruit salad.
