Physical fitness has its benefits for almost all age groups. Especially for adolescents the benefits are much more. Adolescents are young adults, and their bodies can adapt very positively to physical fitness. Any kind of physical activity for them need not be strenuous or extensive. Even moderate exercise daily can be of great value at their age |
Any activity that involves moderate to intense physical involvement is good. They can take part in activities like walking, jogging, and playing football or basketball.
They can do this for just 30 minutes in a day, and reap great health benefits. Adolescents mainly tend to put on weight and become obese due to their lifestyle, lack of activity and also decreased metabolism. As far as the body’s metabolism goes, it is all downhill after an adolescent, as a person, literally stops growing after that. Even girls attain puberty and slow down tremendously. During this time if a teenager does not watch their health they can become fat and invite many health problems.
At a young age, greater amount of physical activity leads to stronger muscles, bones and tissues in the body. Also, at a young age children can shape their body in a desirable way, and also gain a lot of self esteem from that. They lay a foundation for a healthy and a strong body.
Life becomes easy when you do not have any health problems during middle age. The foundation for that is laid in adolescence. Though this age group does not have to go to the gym everyday, they can still play sports and be fit.
