Child development can actually be divided into several stages. A child continues to develop from new born stage to 16 or 17 years of age. They go through different levels of development in these years. There are some key stages in development which every child has to pass. For example, in a baby the major milestones are turning over, crawling and sitting up in the first year. On the mental development, a baby should smile, follow through eye movement and so on. |
In a child also there are different stages, which are used to identify and track the development. The key stages of development in a child are from infancy to 18 months. During this period, parents should watch their child very closely. The child is very exploring by nature. So they should also watch for dangers and keep them from hurting themselves.
