Checklist Of Early Child Development

There are various parameters that are used to mark the development of the child. These parameters are called milestones.

All children who are born normal develop under a timeline, and reach the milestones in a set amount of time. These milestones may be set for a range of months, and hold same for all normal children. Using this developmental timeline, the doctors can tell if a child is developing normally.

Right from birth to adulthood there are several milestones to be achieved for normal emotional and physical growth. Child development can itself be divided into baby stage, toddler, early childhood, and adolescence and teenage. Early child development takes place between 3 to 9 years of age in children.

For example, most babies start walking any time from 18 months to 24 months. If they do not walk by 24 months, there could be a problem. Parents can keep a checklist of milestones for early childhood to see if their child is developing as per the timeline. Each child is different, and may cross a milestone soon or late. However, there is a minimum and maximum period for everything.
